Standing under the night sky of Vamvakou, we will identify the winter constellations and their brightest stars (sky cartography). We will talk about the connection of constellations to Greek mythology and their use in orientation and navigation, by referring to ancient texts. Using portable telescopes, we will observe – weather permitting – the planets of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
