This year’s exciting “journey” began with a “Party … Familia” by The Burger Project, luring young and old to frantic rhythms, culminated in an unforgettable concert party starring the beloved Spartan rapper, Anser, and the one and only performers Locomondo, where hip hop was transformed to reggae, ska, latin, rock and Greek traditional rhythms, “setting fire” on Mount Parnon and closed with an unexpected musical collaboration with threeSchoolwave bands, which stirred up the entire village with metal, pop, rock and traditional sounds to travel to Parnonas!
The cultural agenda of the four-day event was complemented by a two-fold of contemporary dance choreographed by Yannis Mandafounis and Konstantinos Rigos, which caught the eyes of visitors, with the Greek National Opera (GNO) ballet performing “Return of the Summer” at the village entrance station [Plateia Sygkiniseos], after Cairo and Paros, Parabases / Readings of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center with Christos Loulis, who, as part of this series of theatrical analogies, read “Erotokritos” by Vincenzos Kornaros in the courtyard of “Rouga of Vamvakous”, having the forest of Mount Parnon as a natural backdrop under the breathtaking sunset which captivated the audience, a dj set with Makis Papasimakopoulos, creating an idyllic atmosphere with his music. This was followed by an interactive demonstration of the Gerakite weaving art on a loom by the Cultural Association of Geronthron and a fond dance game for young parents and babies, the Baby Boom Dance, with the signature of the GNO Educational & Social Activities and the GNO Ballet. Simultaneously, a vibraphone, an accordion, a violin, a cello, a clarinet and a qanun music instrument were set up in the courtyards of the houses of Vamvakou residents and 6 musicians, members of Oros Ensemble, welcomed the visitors, creating an original musical journey.
Nature, tranquility, wellness, relaxation had a dominant position, awakening all senses with shiatsu and facial massages with essential oils by Alexia Tselekki, organized cycling and hiking by the team “Our Vibe is Mountains”, but also breathing exercise meditation in the forest and yoga next to running waters and lush green vegetation by Maria – Anna Vlachou and Molly Sirenaki. Educational programs in nature for honey and the vegetable garden by the organizations “The Bee Camp” and “Organization Earth” respectively, a soap making workshop by Elena Palumba for young and old, but also aromas and flavors that flooded the school with chocolate and colors in a Color Festival that left no one … “clean” with the signature of Happy Elephant who gave their own mark during these four days.
