Lying on the bunk bed in the children’s home, 11-year-old Lu cannot wait to see her mother again, who, according to the little girl, is a famous Hollywood actress who smells of oranges, talks to the stars and does her own stunts. When she finally visits her, the mother of Lu shows up with a rusty car and an unexpected idea for the two of them to travel to Poland, where Lu’s grandmother lives. With the money said to be hidden there, they will be able to stay together forever. In the beginning, Lu does not understand why the rush out of restaurants without paying, why she mustn’t pick up the phone and why they need to wear wigs, but gradually she discovers the truth about her mother and their unconventional bond.
Movies at 900 meters – Cine Vamvakou! A significant element of the pioneering cultural activation of the village from a long time ago was the existence of a movie camera at the school in 1930. Yes; you heard right! In this little village, 94 years ago, movie screenings were taking place. Vamvakou Revival decided to revive this activity, giving the opportunity to children and grown-ups to watch unique movies at the school, in collaboration with the Athens International Children’s Film Festival
