Fragrant Greek walnut pie (karydopita)

In Vamvakou we welcome October with a sweet and “nutty” activity in the village school! Adamantia Mastrokyriakaki and the little pastry chefs explore the walnut, our local treasure. They discover its nutritional value, reveal its secrets, and make the most fragrant walnut pie! This dessert is identified with Vamvakou, as it is a usual treat in the village households. In this workshop, children will work as a team, develop their skills, communicate, and interact employing as their tool the walnuts grown in Vamvakou.
