As a part of the e-residency program “Helen’s Dress” that take place from Vamvakou, some of the workshops and meetings will be screened live streaming via Facebook platform. The two live streaming meetings are about the Greek traditional embroidery techniques. In the framework of the e-residency program, eight international artists attend an intensive program of meetings, workshops and lectures on embroidery and Greek mythology, using new technologies and be “hosted” during the period from 22 to 27 June 2020, in cyberspace from Vamvakou.
The art of embroidery has been around for a long time and has taken root in Greek tradition and culture. So, come to learn about embroidery, come to learn about your roots and culture.
The program implemented for the first time by Vamvakou Revival, as a part of the project Vamvakou Revival, thanks to an exclusive grant of Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). “Helen’s Dress” artist in residence, as well as the e-Residency version, has been designed and is curated by visual artists Christoph Ziegler (Germany) and Loukía Richards (Greece).
