Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center participates in Vamvakou Experience Festival with a specially designed version of the educational programme “A Fanzine for SNFCC”!
On September, 4, the school programmes of SNFCC travel to Vamvakou, Laconia to meet children aged 8 to 12 years old, who will put together and publish a small, improvised magazine – a fanzine. The purpose of the workshop is for children to come into contact with the genre, the culture of fanzines and improvised editions and become themselves editors, illustrators, photographers, graphic designers. Making the most of analogue and digital media, children will be encouraged to make the village of Vamvakou theirs in art terms and record their experience from their visit creatively by displaying their point of view through the pages of the fanzine.
The visual artist and professor in the University of Thessaly, Alexandros Psychoulis, is responsible for the design and editing of the fanzine.
