The Past, the Present and the Future of Vamvakou

A narrative dialogue between the past and the present of the village, focusing on Education, Culture, the Agricultural Sector, Innovation and Entrepreneurship through the point of view of the people of the village. Representatives of different generations who witnessed Vamvakou throughout all its critical historical periods are testifying their personal experience from both the dark and bright sides of the area. Throughout the discussion, stories from the Occupation, the Civil War, emigration, the evolution of the agricultural production, the school, the local feasts and other social events are brought to light. At the centre of attention will be Communalism through the example of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries, which acted in the beginning of the 20^th century, as well as its connection to the project of revival of Vamvakou, realized by Vamvakou Revival almost 120 years later.
