Carefree moments in nature is set for a rendezvous with history
The time for summer in the village is here and holds surprises for young and older friends and visitors of Vamvakou. The clay play stories series (13/07) continues in July with natural clay and theatrical play becoming the occasion to get to know the animals that live around us better, while the beloved Scholeio … Allios [School … Otherwise] (14/07) is here to cool us down with creative activities. On Saturday, July 20, we enjoy a light trail hike to Agia Kyriaki, the historic cave-monastery-monument in the heart of the forest that was the center of important events for Vamvakou. Moreover, the genealogical tree of Vamvakites (28/07) will reveal the roots and connections of the families with roots from the village through extensive fieldwork completed by researcher and artist, Katerina Samara.
One-of-a-kind Musical quests on the mountain
A summer program without music, is just not possible and that’s why Spilios Christopoulos, aka Dj Palov (20/07) takes action on the decks of Voureiko and we can enjoy our food or drinks in an idyllic atmosphere on the rooftop. The very next day (21/07) the musical quest continues with the Impro Jazz Workshop, who will close their annual residency in Vamvakou with a concert full of jazz sounds in the schoolyard. An unexpected collaboration which combines music and astronomy will fill the roof of Voureiko once again with… Music Intervals [Mousika Diastimata] (28/07) who will transform the sounds and signals of the stars into music. Don’t miss them!
